Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Manny Torres!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Mateus Canela!
The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, Daniel Franklin and Dirk Anderson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Torres checks a leg kick.
Torres connects with a leg kick.
Canela fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Torres avoids it really well and circles away.
Canela throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Torres looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Canela is fending him off so far but Torres persists. Nope, Canela circles away and we're back to standing.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Torres.
Canela misses with a low kick.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Torres has a takedown stuffed.
Canela doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Manny Torres. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Torres shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Canela is trying to defend but Torres finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Torres thows a huge punch but Canela dodges it nicely.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Canela holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.
Torres is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Canela is just riding it out for now. Torres eventually gives up the hold.
Canela is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.
Canela should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Torres thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Canela blocking the ground and pound attempt from Torres.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Torres shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Canela as he avoids it easily.
Canela throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Torres's waist but Torres gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Canela off to one side.
Canela looks winded!
Torres shoots in but no luck this time.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Canela has eaten all the pies!
Torres scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Torres shoots in for a double leg but Canela sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Torres shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Canela defends it nicely.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
Canela pushes Torres up against the cage in a clinch.
Canela gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Torres will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Torres wants to control the position but Canela says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Canela in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Torres tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Canela!
