Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Murilo Ninja (ranked 699 p4p, 651 weight class) and Seppo Maki (ranked 76 p4p, 71 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 32 - 27 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Murilo Ninja!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Seppo Maki!
The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Saam Ante and Paul Aken.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ninja fails with the takedown
and Maki connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Ninja moves into the clinch.
Ninja is looking for a takedown.
Ninja tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Ninja changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Maki fights it off and pushes away nicely.

and Maki counters with a stiff right hand.
Maki throws a right hand that Ninja ducks under and follows up with a left that Ninja also avoids with ease.

and Maki counters with a nice leg kick.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Ninja shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Maki connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Murilo Ninja seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Ninja throws a poor cross that misses
and Maki counters with a nice uppercut.
Ninja fails in his attempt to clinch.
Maki flicks out a counter leg kick but Ninja steps away.

Ninja closes the distance and pushes Maki back into the cage.

Ninja turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Ninja manages to end up in side control.

Maki bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!

Ninja throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Maki counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Ninja closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Maki to the mat! Maki manages to get full guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Ninja accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Ninja postures up in Maki's guard and throws a big left but Maki blocks it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ninja's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Ninja is working Maki over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Ninja lands a couple of digs.
Ninja looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Maki can do anything to dispel that myth.

Ninja throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Maki works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Ninja throws a big elbow that misses.

Ninja keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Maki's head.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Maki pulls Ninja in to control the position.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Ninja throws an elbow that misses. Maki uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Ninja's guard. Nice move by Maki!

Ninja wants to get back to his feet but Maki passes into half guard.
Ninja wants to improve his position but Maki is controlling well.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Ninja looks like he's trying to stand up.
Ninja gets back to full guard.
Maki stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Ninja swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Ninja wants to get back to his feet but Maki is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Seppo Maki dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!

Maki feints and then cracks Ninja's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Ninja down.
Ninja goes for a double leg but Maki avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Maki continues to drive forward.
Maki has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Maki throws a head punch that misses.
Ninja misses with the head strike.
Maki lands a shoulder strike.
Ninja misses with the head strike.
Maki throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.
Maki swings wildly with an uppercut but Ninja uses good head movement to avoid it.
Ninja swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Maki misses with some punches.
Maki lands a body punch in the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Maki.
Ninja takes a shot to the head.
Ninja lands with a left to the head.

Ninja lands a hook that snaps the head of Maki backwards.

Ninja is looking to control Maki's arms but Maki gets an underhook and turns him. Now Ninja has his back to the cage.
Maki lands a nice uppercut.
Maki lands with a light punch inside.

Maki breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Maki has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off.
Ninja has his takedown stuffed
and Maki makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Maki thumps Ninja with a low kick.
Ninja doesn't manage to clinch there - Maki circles away.
Ninja rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Maki counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Good exchange - Maki coming out on top.
Ninja is looking to clinch.
Ninja tries to clinch but Maki moves out of range.
Ninja shoots and misses
and Maki cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Maki scores with a nice body kick.
Ninja swings and misses with a shot to the body
and Maki counters with a nice low kick that buckles Ninja's knee momentarily.
Seppo Maki seems to be getting the better of the standup.

A thudding body kick lands there by Maki!
Maki cracks Ninja on the jaw with a powerful right hand and Ninja falls backwards against the cage. Maki follows up with more strikes that drop Ninja to his knees. Maki keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save Ninja! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:11 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Seppo Maki!
