PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between ZaDarius Haden (ranked 940 p4p, 1115 weight class) and Tino Takala (ranked 125 p4p, 143 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Haden might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Mot�rhead - Orgasmatron. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 29 - 21 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, ZaDarius Haden!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 15 - 2, fighting out of Helsinki, Tino Takala!
The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Jonathan Paton and Chad Campbell.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Haden misses with a takedown
and Takala counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Haden scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Takala doesn't seem bothered though.
A decent looking cross lands there for Haden.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Haden.
Haden throws a right hand that misses
and Haden takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Haden has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Gunner's School of Combat in the buildup to the fight.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Haden fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Takala is looking for the big counter here.

It seemed like Takala was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

Haden feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Haden is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Takala is trying to push Haden away but Haden has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Takala is looking to break free of the clinch but Haden has double underhooks.
Haden keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Takala's efforts to push away.
Takala looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

Haden can't find room to land a body shot as Takala controls the action.

and Takala counters with a three punch combo that has Haden backing up. Haden nods at Takala to acknowledge the strikes.

and Takala rattles Haden with a well-timed uppercut counter. - Haden tries to back away and recover but his hands are down low and he gets tagged again, sending him stumbling down to the canvas. Takala dives in after him and quickly finishes the job with a trio of brutal punches, leaving Haden stiff and motionless on the mat!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:59 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Tino Takala!
