Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ulysses Corbin (ranked 3583 p4p, 3573 weight class) and Zavian Barkley (ranked 371 p4p, 370 weight class). Ulysses Corbin has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ulysses Corbin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Zavian Barkley!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Alec Ball and Trevor Gratis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barkley on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Barkley needs to keep his hands up - Corbin had a free shot at his head there.
Barkley moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Corbin looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Barkley throws a head kick that misses.
Corbin swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Barkley scores with a kick to the body.
Corbin ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Barkley moves away.
Barkley tries a quick counter leg kick but Corbin is wise to it.

and Corbin counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Barkley is looking to control Corbin's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Barkley avoid being mounted?
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Corbin thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Barkley trying to hold on to Corbin's head to control him but Corbin postures up.

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Barkley looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
The fighters circling - Corbin throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Barkley displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Corbin.
Corbin checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
A little feinted left hand from Corbin on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.

Barkley throws a sloppy head kick and Corbin moves out of range easily.

Barkley tries to clinch but Corbin moves out of range.
Corbin drops down looking for a counter takedown but Barkley sprawls and moves away.
Zavian Barkley seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Barkley gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Corbin is standing up over Barkley. Barkley looks to escape but Corbin dives into side control.

Barkley trying to control but Corbin flips him over like a cheap hooker and has his back!
Corbin lands a couple of good shots to his opponent's body and a final shot to the head. Good little attack there by Corbin.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

I really don't envy Barkley right now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

What can Barkley do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Corbin working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet.
Corbin has good solid back control here.
Barkley just trying to survive but Corbin is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.
Barkley trying to get back to his feet but Corbin is in full control for now.
Corbin lands a shot to the head.

Barkley tries to escape but Corbin has the hooks in and won't let him break free.

Barkley rolls, trying to escape but Corbin keeps control of the position.
Barkley covers up after that shot from Corbin.
Barkley looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.
Corbin lands with a big left hand that may well have hurt his opponent. Can Barkley hold on?!

Corbin is not going to allow Barkley to sit and survive in this position.

Barkley trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble.
Barkley might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Corbin haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Barkley is trying to stand back up.

Corbin working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet.

Corbin slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Corbin lands with a couple of good shots - one to the side of the head and one questionable shot that could be viewed as to the back of the head but the referee lets it go.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Corbin closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Barkley did well to prevent Corbin getting side control.

Corbin seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Barkley does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Corbin throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Corbin is just content to waste time from the top position. Barkley takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
Corbin stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Barkley swivels though and keeps the full guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Barkley had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Corbin defends it easily.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Barkley looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Zavian Barkley is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Corbin scores with a jab.
Corbin misses with the combination.
Barkley tries to counter by closing the distance.
Barkley scores with a kick to the midsection.
Barkley chopping away at his opponent's legs.
The crowd cheers as Corbin lands an impressive looking overhand right. Barkley doesn't seem phased though.
Barkley gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Corbin lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.

and Corbin counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Barkley scores with a head kick. Corbin tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.

Corbin closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Barkley quickly recovers to half guard.
Well, if Corbin is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Corbin is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Barkley can do to turn this around?

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Barkley seems a little lost for a moment, as Corbin dominates the positioning.

Corbin swings around for an armbar but Barkley sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Corbin's guard.

Corbin escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Barkley gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Barkley thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Barkley wants to control from the top but Corbin keeps moving.

Barkley is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Corbin has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Barkley is looking to defend but Corbin has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Barkley! Corbin pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Barkley taps out and this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 7:59 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Ulysses Corbin!
