PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Kenyon Igwe (ranked 4320 p4p, 4060 weight class) and Vladimir Yaroslav (ranked 0 p4p, 389 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Yaroslav drives through and clinches with Igwe against the cage.
Igwe gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Yaroslav.
Igwe tries to pull guard but Yaroslav forces him back to his feet, against the cage.

Kenyon Igwe has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Vladimir Yaroslav.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Igwe manages to break the clinch.
Igwe tries to land a front kick but Yaroslav steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.

Yaroslav postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Igwe is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Yaroslav, into his guard.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Igwe tries to free his leg and advance position but Yaroslav is retaining full guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Yaroslav passes into side control, despite Igwe's attempt to control the position.

Yaroslav has hold of Igwe's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Igwe seems comfortable defending it but Yaroslav has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Igwe is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Igwe is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Yaroslav couldn't care less - he's delighted!
