The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
King throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Widforss on the side of the head.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Widforss throws a right and a left that King avoids nicely.
King throws a hook but Widforss blocks it.
King fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Widforss manages to avoid it.
King fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Widforss just misses with a punch to the body.
Widforss fails with the takedown
and King counters with a nice kick to the body.
King misses with a straight right.
Widforss changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
King lands a nice hook to Widforss's body. Widforss takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Horrible takedown attempt by Widforss or perhaps it was just good defense by King, which made it look bad.
Widforss ducks down and throws a hook to the body but King moves away.
An attempted straight right counter from King misses the target.
Widforss slips a straight right by King.
King takes a swing at Widforss's ribcage but misses.
Widforss feints the counter takedown.
Widforss takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Good shot there by Widforss.
This has been an exciting period of action!

King throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Widforss.
Widforss throws an overhand right that lands on King's shoulder, as King tries to avoid the shot.
Widforss cracks King with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.

King bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Nice shot by King.
King looks to land a right hand but Widforss moved out of range.
Widforss misses with a wild body shot.
King throws a right hand that Widforss ducks under and follows up with a left that Widforss also avoids with ease.
An inside leg kick lands from King.
Widforss has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by King.
Widforss lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
King throws a body shot but no joy.
Widforss misses with a wild body shot.
Widforss shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
We've been told by King's head coaches at Crapollas Gym that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
A telegraphed right hand from King misses the target.
A slapping body kick lands there for King.

Widforss shoots in and gets a takedown into King's guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Widforss trying to control but King is working from the bottom.
King wants to sweep but no luck.
King keeping moving, preventing Widforss from controlling successfully.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Widforss is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Widforss throwing strikes from guard but King blocks nicely.
Widforss throws a strike but King rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.


Widforss is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. King is aware though and is defending well.

Widforss looking for submissions from the bottom but instead King passes into half guard.
Widforss regains full guard. Nicely done.

Widforss working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. King doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. King manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Widforss is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

King wants to pass the guard but Widforss is keeping the position.

Widforss has his feet on King's thighs here. He's pushed King off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! King screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
