PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jason Stackhouse (ranked 2693 p4p, 3290 weight class) and Topf Deckel (ranked 155 p4p, 204 weight class). Stackhouse comes to the cage accompanied by True Blood. Topf Deckel acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 37 - 21 - 2, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jason Stackhouse !
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Topf Deckel!
The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Aafke Stam and Albert Achterberg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stackhouse will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Deckel appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body.
Deckel shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Stackhouse as he avoids it easily.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Deckel has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Stackhouse throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Deckel bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Deckel defending well as Stackhouse loads up on a big left hand.
Deckel is looking for the big counter here.
Stackhouse dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Deckel. That did some damage!
Jason Stackhouse seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Deckel throws a nice looking combination but Stackhouse bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Stackhouse lands with a right hand.
Stackhouse throws a hook but Deckel avoids it easily.
Deckel throws a counter combo.
Stackhouse lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Stackhouse throws a body punch but Deckel moves out of range.
Stackhouse throws a hook to the side of Deckel's head but Deckel sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Deckel takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
The fighters circling - Stackhouse throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Stackhouse misses with an uppercut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Deckel shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Stackhouse but Stackhouse pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Stackhouse misses with an uppercut. Deckel saw that one coming.
A telegraphed right hand from Stackhouse misses the target.
Jason Stackhouse is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Stackhouse misses with a wild body shot.
Deckel takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Stackhouse thows a left - swing and a miss!
Deckel closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Stackhouse throws a hook but Deckel blocks it.
That kick from Stackhouse tenderised Deckel's leg. Deckel is trying to keep his angry face on.
Stackhouse misses with a looping left.

Deckel dives in and scores a takedown into Stackhouse 's guard.
Stackhouse is wriggling around but Deckel manages to pass to half guard.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Deckel in particular looking to stall.

Deckel is trying to work for a kimura but Stackhouse is defending well.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Deckel is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Stackhouse defends it well.

Deckel seems to be working for a kimura but Stackhouse defends the submission attempt.
Deckel is looking to take a break and control but Stackhouse is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Stackhouse on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Stackhouse tries to get out of the position.

Deckel works his way into side control.

Deckel tries for a kimura but Stackhouse is defending well.
Deckel is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Stackhouse 's shoulder. That is not cool.

Deckel is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Stackhouse looks calm but he's in trouble here. Deckel gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Stackhouse is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Deckel lets go of the hold and Stackhouse can pop his arm back in it's socket.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Topf Deckel!
Topf Deckel decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
Jason Stackhouse was interviewed post fight and said 'It's like if a tree falls in the woods, it's still a tree, ain't it?'.
