Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Giorgio Petrosyian (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Shepard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Shepard gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Petrosyian escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Petrosyian shoots in for a double leg but Shepard sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Petrosyian throws a series of punches but Shepard moves out of range.
Shepard fails to land with a series of punches.
Shepard moves out of range of the body kick from Petrosyian.
Petrosyian changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Shepard tries to avoid it but Petrosyian manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Shepard to the ground. Shepard escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Shepard moves into range and clinches up with Petrosyian.

Shepard shoots for a takedown but Petrosyian saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Shepard swings away with a body shot that misses
and Petrosyian counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.
Petrosyian throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.

and Petrosyian counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Petrosyian.
Giorgio Petrosyian has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of John Shepard.
Petrosyian gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.
Shepard tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Petrosyian has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Shepard is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Petrosyian is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Petrosyian extends the arm and Shepard is forced to tap!
