Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Daniel Ritter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Adam Cain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Daniel Ritter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Adam Cain!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Stewart Dunkirk and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cain scores with a head kick.
Cain throws a right hand that Ritter ducks under and follows up with a left that Ritter also avoids with ease.
Cain misses with a two punch combination.
Cain misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Cain lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Ritter circles away quickly and effectively.
Ritter fails in his attempt to clinch.

Ritter wants to clinch up but Cain keeps it at a distance.
Cain scores with a head kick.
No joy there for Cain, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Ritter shoots in for a takedown but Cain shows good takedown defense.

Cain fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Ritter manages to avoid it.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Ritter.
Cain slaps away a takedown attempt from Ritter, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Nice straight punches there by Cain. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Cain.

Cain stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

Ritter darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Ritter is looking to take a break and control but Cain is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Ritter slips a nice elbow through Cain's hands, connecting with Cain's forehead.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Cain wants to get back to his feet.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Cain is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Ritter thows a huge punch but Cain dodges it nicely.
Cain is trying to stand up here but Ritter is controlling him well.
Ritter lands with a punch from half guard.
Ritter prevents Cain from standing back up.
Cain looks gassed!
Cain is controlling Ritter's position as best he can from this difficult position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Ritter moves into range and clinches up with Cain.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Ritter manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.

Ritter escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Cain gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Cain wants to control from the top but Ritter keeps moving.
Cain won't allow Ritter to get back to his feet.
Cain tries to stand but Ritter is controlling from the bottom.
Ritter punching from the bottom.
Cain postures up.

Cain decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Ritter, up you get!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Cain lands a with a good body shot.
Ritter shoots for a double leg takedown but Cain sprawls well. He's pushed Ritter's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Cain closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Cain lands in his opponent's guard.

Adam Cain dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!



Cain rushes Ritter and presses him up against the ropes.
Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Ritter.
Ritter changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Cain fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Ritter is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Cain.

Cain closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Cain decides to stand back up.
Ritter moves out of range of the body kick.
Ritter shoots in and drives through. Cain sprawls well.
Ritter misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Ritter moves forwards but Cain connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Cain moves in looking to clinch but Ritter pushes him off.
Daniel Ritter is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Cain takes the fight into the clinch.
Ritter drops down looking for an ankle pick but Cain pulls his leg out and moves away.

Ritter shoots in and drives through. Cain sprawls well.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Cain closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
A lull in the action here as Cain stalls from top position.

Ritter throws an elbow to the body but it doesn't land.
Ritter is letting Cain control him for a moment.

Cain postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Ritter is looking for a sweep.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Cain getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Cain circles away from the clinch attempt.
Cain tries to close the distance and clinch but Ritter swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Ritter shoots and misses
and Cain counters with a series of strikes. Ritter will be more careful next time no doubt.
Cain is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Ritter closes the distance and clinches up with Cain, looking for a takedown. Ritter pushes Cain against the ropes but Cain circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Cain lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Ritter backs up against the ropes.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Adam Cain showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Cain gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Ritter to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Ritter trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Ritter throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Cain works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Cain bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Ritter's guard.
Ritter is looking to stand up but Cain isn't so interested in that idea.

Cain pushes down on Ritter's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Cain tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Cain escapes and gets back to his feet.

Ritter closes the distance and clinches up with Cain, looking for a takedown. Ritter pushes Cain against the ropes but Cain circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Ritter shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Cain sprawls well. Cain wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Ritter gets slowly back to his feet.

Cain stands and steps away. Ritter gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Ritter shoots in for a double leg but Cain sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Cain scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Cain misses with a series of wild punches.
Cain leaves Ritter with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Ritter shoots in looking for a takedown. Cain tries to sprawl out of it but Ritter keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the ropes. Cain manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Nice takedown defense from Ritter. No joy for Cain on that attempt.

Ritter shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Cain manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Adam Cain really dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Ritter decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Cain pushes Ritter off looking to stand but Ritter dives back in and keeps control.
Cain on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Cain is staying active underneath Ritter, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Adam Cain has got the better of the ground game so far.
Ritter working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Ritter is thwarting Cain's attempts to control the position.
Cain might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Ritter kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Ritter wants to work for an arm triangle but Cain is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Ritter closes the distance and clinches up with Cain, looking for a takedown. Ritter pushes Cain against the ropes but Cain circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
It's got to the stage where if one of these guys blows hard enough, the other might fall over.

Cain moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

and Cain counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.

Cain throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Ritter moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Adam Cain seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Cain is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Well, if Cain is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Cain wants to free his trapped foot but Ritter is holding on for dear life with his legs.
