Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Norman Bates (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and jon wayne (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Bates might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Go Into The Water - Dethklok. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Alec Ball and Trevor Gratis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
wayne fails to land the takedown.
wayne moves into the clinch successfully.
wayne is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Bates can't fight it off and eventually wayne manages to take the fight to the floor. Bates looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Bates keeping moving, preventing wayne from controlling successfully.
Bates keeping full guard, as wayne tries to pass.
wayne passes Bates's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Bates is defending against the submission attempts here by wayne.
wayne is looking for a kimura but Bates is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for wayne to get the leverage.

wayne wants to lay and pray for a moment but Bates keeps working.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

wayne has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Bates is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

wayne looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
wayne goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Bates is on top in guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
wayne is working an open guard so Bates takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Bates takes a head kick and keeps coming.

wayne steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Bates.
Norman Bates is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Bates slaps away a takedown attempt from wayne, before circling back to the center of the mat.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Bates tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.
wayne is looking for a sweep.
Bates has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Bates walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. wayne checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
wayne looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Bates throws a leg kick but wayne sees it coming and moves out of range.

wayne shoots for a takedown but Bates saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
wayne gets a clinch.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Bates.
Bates tries a knee to the head but wayne blocks it.
Bates prevents a takedown attempt there.
Norman Bates has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of jon wayne.
Bates lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Bates escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Bates avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Bates misses with a double jab.
wayne blocks a leg kick.
Bates throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
wayne shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Bates as he jumps to the side.
Bates throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Bates throws the left hand but wayne avoids the punch easily.
Bates lands a jab to the nose.
That has opened up jon wayne's cut even more.
Bates connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Norman Bates is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
wayne tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Bates lands with an overhand left.
The cut above jon wayne's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Bates lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Norman Bates seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Bates scores with a hook to the body. wayne takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Bates misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
wayne keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Bates.
wayne looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Bates will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Bates stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Bates misses with the combination.
wayne shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
wayne shoots in and drives through. Bates sprawls well.
Bates tries a head kick but it misses.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Bates throws a nice looking combination but wayne bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Bates tries to keep at a distance but wayne has taken the fight into the clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

wayne bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as wayne checks a leg kick.
wayne blocks a low kick nicely.
wayne plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
wayne lands with a slapping head kick.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Bates crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from wayne - the referee stops the clock and Bates gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says wayne. Bates manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
wayne tries to close the distance and clinch but Bates swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Bates throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
wayne tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Bates blocks a head kick by wayne.
Bates stuffs the takedown attempt from wayne. wayne gets slowly back to his feet.
A big left from Bates misses.
Bates throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Bates pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
wayne takes a kick to the side of the head.
Bates with a nice cross.
jon wayne's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

No joy there for Bates, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
wayne fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Bates sprawls well initially but wayne persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Bates is trying to stand back up but wayne is controlling him
Bates on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Bates tries to get out of the position.
wayne trying to pass the guard but Bates defending well.
Bates has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. wayne is working away from the top position though.
wayne is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Bates is just riding it out for now. wayne eventually gives up the hold.

wayne looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Bates knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for wayne on the ground.
Bates is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, wayne asserts his dominance and retains side control.

wayne tries for a kimura but Bates is defending well.
wayne tries to advance to mount but can't.
wayne wants to control but Bates is keeping him busy.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
wayne moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at jon wayne's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
