Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 56 - 34 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jax Thomas!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Tiny Johnson and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Pain clinches.

Thomas pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Thomas should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Thomas darts in trying to clinch
and Pain counters with a three punch combo that has Thomas backing up. Thomas nods at Pain to acknowledge the strikes.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Thomas has eaten all the pies!
Pain moves out of range as Thomas throws a body kick.

Pain clinches with his opponent.

Thomas breaks from the clinch.
Thomas misses with a double jab

and Pain counters with a big 3 punch combo that drops Thomas on his ass! Thomas wobbles back to his feet half way through the count and though looking a bit dazed, the referee is going to allow the fight to continue!

Pain gets a clinch.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Pain is trying to break the clinch but Thomas is controlling him.
Thomas tries a body shot but Pain blocks it.
Pain tries to circle away but Thomas has him pinned against the ropes.

Thomas escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Pain definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Pain blocks a head kick by Thomas.
Pain went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Pain lands with a nice body punch.

Thomas has taken the fight to the clinch.

Thomas breaks from the clinch.

Pain rushes Thomas and presses him up against the ropes.
Thomas has Pain pressed against the ropes, preventing Pain from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Pain controlling the action here for a moment.
Pain wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Thomas has him pressed against the ropes.
Pain tries to break free but Thomas pushes him back against the ropes.

Thomas breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Thomas looks to land a left hand but Pain moved out of range nicely.

Thomas instigates a clinch.
Pain makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Pain slows down the pace here.

Thomas misses with some punches.

Thomas breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Pain doesn't manage to clinch there - Thomas circles away.

Pain misses with a body punch.
Thomas controlling the action here for a moment.
Pain tries to break free but Thomas pushes him back against the ropes.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Pain misses with a knee strike.
Thomas landing knees to the head.

Thomas breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Pain closes the distance and pushes Thomas back into the ropes.
We've been informed that Thomas has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.

Pain blocks a punch to the side of the head.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
Thomas lands with a short punch from the clinch.

Thomas escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Pain feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Thomass jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Pain lands a right and a left and another right! Thomas goes down! Oh, he's in big, big trouble! 3,4,5,6,7,8... he's up to one knee... 9,10! He can't beat the count - this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Major Pain!
