PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Lesser Scaup (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bryn Wendowsky (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Trevor Gratis and Yves DeLean.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Scaup takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Scaup takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Wendowsky throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Scaup scores with a takedown into Wendowsky's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Scaup is breathing heavily.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Scaup prevents Wendowsky from getting back to his feet.
Scaup wants to stand but Wendowsky is controlling his posture from full guard.
Wendowsky wants to stand but Scaup is controlling the position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Scaup missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Wendowsky is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Scaup is controlling him.
Wendowsky keeping moving, preventing Scaup from controlling successfully.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Scaup accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Wendowsky has his feet on Scaup's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Scaup blocks a jab.
Wendowsky throws a left that rocks Scaup and follows with a right that sends him tumbling to the canvas! Wendowsky dives into side control, looking to finish! Can Scaup regain composure!

Scaup is rocked!

It looks like Lesser Scaup has been cut.

Wendowsky has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Oh Scaup is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Wendowsky misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Scaup seems to have got his legs back now.
Scaup tries to close the distance and clinch up but Wendowsky swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Scaup pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Wendowsky dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Wendowsky throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
A jab from Wendowsky misses.
Scaup misses with a two punch combination.
Scaup doesn't manage to clinch there - Wendowsky circles away.

Wendowsky lands with a straight right. Scaup didn't see that one coming.

Lesser Scaup's cut is getting worse.
Scaup shoots in for a double leg but Wendowsky sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Scaup fails in his attempt to clinch.
Wendowsky scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Scaup doesn't seem bothered though.
Wendowsky lands with a straight right. Scaup didn't see that one coming.
Wendowsky misses with a straight right.
Wendowsky thuds a left hand into Scaup's body.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Scaup avoids a punch combination nicely.
Scaup slips under a jab.
Scaup shoots in but no luck this time.
Scaup takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Wendowsky clobbers Scaup with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

Lesser Scaup's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
Wendowsky ducks down and throws a big overhand right - it lands flush on the jaw, knocking Scaup out cold! The fight is over!
