The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Khalidov throws a sloppy head kick
and Jones counters with a series of strikes. Khalidov will be more careful next time no doubt.
Khalidov misses with a wild combination.
Jones swings for the body but Khalidov moves out of range.

Khalidov tries to clinch but Jones moves out of range.
Khalidov doesn't manage to clinch there - Jones circles away.

and Khalidov counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Jones fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Khalidov to the ground. Jones is now in Khalidov's guard.
Khalidov wants to get back to his feet but Jones passes into half guard.

Jones is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Jones takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Khalidov really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Jones. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Jones cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Jones throws some shoulder strikes here and then postures up. Oh, he's gone for an armbar! Khalidov has his hands clasped together but Jones breaks the hold and Khalidov is forced to tap! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over! That was lightning fast by Jones!
