Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hamland tries to clinch up
and Hamland takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Hamland definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Hamland throws a lazy right hand but Ortiz sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Hamland shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Ortiz is trying to defend but Hamland finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Ortiz can do anything to dispel that myth.
Hamland seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Ortiz does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
