Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Yin Mao (ranked 2508 p4p, 3074 weight class) and Kotetsu Yama (ranked 176 p4p, 208 weight class). Mao kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is HonestKey- Pass. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Yin Mao!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kotetsu Yama!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Alec Ball and Robert Douchet.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The crowd cheers as Yama lands an impressive looking overhand right. Mao doesn't seem phased though.
Mao takes a swing at Yama's ribcage but misses.
Good shot there by Mao.
Mao throws an off balance right hand
letting Yama counter with a right hand.
Yama blocks a jab.
Mao throws an overhand right that lands on Yama's shoulder, as Yama tries to avoid the shot.
Yama drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Mao defends it well.
Kotetsu Yama seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A slow jab from Yama misses its intended target.
A good leg kick by Mao.
Yama throws a lazy uppercut
and Mao counters with a straight right hand.
Yama uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Mao.
Yama lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Yama closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Yama throws a body punch but Mao moves out of range.

Yama jabs Mao right on the nose. Mao blinks but takes it well.

Yama looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Mao is fending him off so far but Yama persists. Nope, Mao circles away and we're back to standing.
Yama takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Mao misses with a looping left.
Mao throws a quick inside leg kick.
Yama swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Yama's jab looks to have found its range, popping Mao under the eye.
An inside leg kick lands from Mao.
Yama misses with a left hand
and Mao counters with a stiff right hand.
Yama stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Yama has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off.
Mao needs to keep his hands up - Yama had a free shot at his head there.
Yama is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Mao had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into mush.
A left lands for Mao.
Yama is rocked!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Yama slips under a jab from Mao.
Mao takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Mao throws a head kick but Yama moves out of range.
Mao has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Yama finds it's way round the side to connect with Mao's head.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Good leg kick by Mao.
Mao walks into a straight right hand from Yama.
Yama fails in his attempt to clinch.
Mao swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Yama fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Mao looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Mao throws a head kick that misses.
Yin Mao is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Mao scoring well with a low kick there.
Mao throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Mao scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Yama is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Mao.
Mao is looking to score with low kicks.
Yama takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Mao fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Yama.
Yama might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Mao lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Yama tries for a takedown but Mao circles away easily
letting Mao counter with a right hand.
Yama cracks Mao with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Mao lands a big head kick that sends Yama tumbling to the mat! Mao takes a step backwards and waves Yama back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Yama is still on wobbly legs! Can Mao finish him?
It looks like Kotetsu Yama has been cut.
Yama jabs at Mao's body.
Yama tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Mao defends well and Yama ends up having to push Mao into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Yin Mao has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kotetsu Yama.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Mao closes the distance and lands a vicious right hand that drops Yama! Mao dives in looking to finish! Yama is still trying to defend himself but he's taking too many shots and the referee has no choice but to stop the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Yin Mao!
Our winner, Yin Mao, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
