The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lupsaka misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Dory.
Dory tries to counter by closing the distance.
Lupsaka tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Dory paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Dory doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter.

Lupsaka closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Dory.
Lupsaka blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Lupsaka lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Lupsaka lands a right hand that snaps the head of Dory backwards.
Dory gets through Lupsaka's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
The referee calls for Dory to work.

Dory tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Lupsaka wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Lupsaka tries to score a body lock takedown but Dory shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
We've been hearing reports that Lupsaka has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Dory lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Lupsaka misses with an elbow over the top.
Dory digs a right hand into Lupsaka's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Lupsaka's gas tank.

Lupsaka using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Dory has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Lupsaka swings wildly with an uppercut but Dory uses good head movement to avoid it.
Lupsaka tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Dory avoids it.
Lupsaka changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Dory fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Lupsaka shoots in and drives through. Dory sprawls well.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Herio Lupsaka. That's going to take a lot out of him.

It looks like Herio Lupsaka has been cut.

and Dory makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Oh Lupsaka is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Dory throws a front kick that sends Lupsaka stumbling back into the cage.

and Dory counters with a huge overhand right that connects right on the temple, sending him crumpling, face first to the floor! This one is all over! What a knockout!

A relieved looking John Dory thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
