PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Adam Beasley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Poli Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Beasley comes into the arena with Metalingus blaring out of the sound system. Diaz has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Beasley moves into the clinch.
Diaz wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Beasley seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Diaz throws and elbow that misses. Beasley uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Diaz's guard. Nice move by Beasley!

Beasley tries to bum rush Diaz with a series of wild strikes but Diaz uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Beasley has Diaz pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Diaz manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Beasley escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Beasley closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Beasley takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Beasley is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Diaz is refusing to be controlled, as Beasley sits in half guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Beasley throws a head kick that Diaz semi-blocks.


It looks like Poli Diaz has been cut.
Beasley swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

and Diaz holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Beasley throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.

Beasley moves into the clinch.
Beasley wants to get back to striking at distance but Diaz won't allow it.
Diaz goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Beasley drops down looking for an ankle pick but Diaz pulls his leg out and moves away.
Horrible takedown by Beasley or perhaps it was just good defense by Diaz which made him look bad.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Beasley decides to take the fight back to the feet.

Beasley changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Diaz looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Diaz is looking to control Beasley's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Diaz avoid being mounted?

Diaz misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Beasley not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Beasley looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Beasley wants to lay and pray for a moment but Diaz keeps working.
Beasley is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Beasley fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
