Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jim Calloway (ranked 1486 p4p, 3641 weight class) and Boby Marreta (ranked 194 p4p, 383 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jim Calloway!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Boby Marreta!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, James Atkins and James Ackerman.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Marreta shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
An inside leg kick from Calloway misses.
Marreta unleashes a big counter combination but Calloway bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Marreta bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Calloway throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Calloway.
Marreta shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Calloway as he avoids it easily.
Calloway just misses with a punch to the body.
Calloway keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Jim Calloway has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Boby Marreta.
Marreta misses with a lunging right hand
and Calloway counters with a stiff right hand.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Calloway misses the jab.
Marreta changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Calloway misses with a looping left.
Marreta dives in and grabs Calloway's left leg, looking for a takedown. Calloway pushes down on Marreta's head and hops out.
Calloway was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Calloway tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Calloway misses with a body shot.
Marreta throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Calloway.
Marreta is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Calloway scores with a shot to the body.
Jim Calloway is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Calloway throws an overhand right that lands on Marreta's shoulder, as Marreta tries to avoid the shot.
A cross from Calloway lands.
Calloway throws a leg kick but Marreta moved away.
Calloway is looking light on his feet compared to last time was saw him fight.
Calloway circles away from the clinch attempt
and Calloway connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Calloway wants to slow Marreta down by chopping away at his legs.
And Marreta tries to counter it with a takedown but Calloway pushes his down on his head and steps out.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Marreta feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Calloway wants to improve his position here. There's a bit of a scramble and Marreta has taken Calloway's back! He's locked on a rear naked choke here and Calloway has been forced to tap!

After the fight, Boby Marreta was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
