PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Uriel Tartarus (ranked 534 p4p, 671 weight class) and Jovi Wolf (ranked 66 p4p, 71 weight class). Wolf has chosen Shut em up as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wolf slips a straight right by Tartarus.
Wolf bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Wolf shoots in but no luck this time.
Wolf misses with a looping left.
Wolf throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Wolf scores with a punch to the head.
Jovi Wolf seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Wolf throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Wolf throws a hook but Tartarus avoids it easily.
Tartarus is looking for a counter combo.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Wolf throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Tartarus stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Wolf avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Donk. Wolf catches Tartarus right on the button with a cross.
Tartarus walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Wolf checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Tartarus tries to score with a low kick but Wolf moves his leg out of the way.

Wolf wants to counter the offense by Tartarus and move into the clinch position.
Wolf throws a lazy right hand but Tartarus sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Tartarus misses with a straight right.
Tartarus takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Wolf scores with a nice right hand.
Wolf shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Tartarus eats them both and turns towards Wolf to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
We've been told by Tartarus's head coaches at The Infamous Duranto Gym that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.

The fighters circling - Wolf throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Wolf misses with a wild body shot.
It looked like Tartarus was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Wolf.

Wolf tries to counter with a clinch but Tartarus shakes him off and moves away.

Tartarus throws a chopping leg kick but Wolf manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Tartarus throws a leg kick which misses Wolf's front leg but catches the back leg as Wolf tries to avoid it.

Wolf misses with an uppercut. Tartarus saw that one coming.
Wolf throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Tartarus connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Wolf fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Wolf throws a lazy uppercut
letting Tartarus counter with a right hand.
A bone on bone clash there as Wolf blocks the leg kick.
Wolf swings widly with a right hand
and Tartarus counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Uriel Tartarus is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Wolf closes the distance and clinches.
Tartarus working some nice short punches in the clinch.
Wolf can't find room to land a body shot as Tartarus controls the action.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Tartarus feinted there with a counter leg kick.
Tartarus feints and then cracks Wolf's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Wolf down.

Wolf on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Tartarus. Tartarus obviously looking to wear him down.
A head kick from Wolf lands but Tartarus takes it in his stride.
Wolf displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Tartarus throws out the jab.
Tartarus sets himself, and Wolf steps forward looking for the clinch! Tartarus avoids it this time.

Wolf is rocked!
Tartarus sees an opening and throws a straight punch right through Wolf's defenses. It connects perfectly with Wolf's jaw and knocks him out cold! Wow - that's a contender for knockout of the year - absolutely brutal!

A relieved looking Uriel Tartarus thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
