Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Horus Egyptian (ranked 615 p4p, 2257 weight class) and Nori Voluspa (ranked 88 p4p, 262 weight class). Horus Egyptian has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Horus Egyptian!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 16 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Nori Voluspa!
The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Reed Andrews and Joseph Jones.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Voluspa drives through and clinches with Egyptian against the cage.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Egyptian.
Egyptian gets through Voluspa's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
A shot in the inside from Egyptian.

Egyptian manages to break the clinch.
Voluspa looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Voluspa tries to close the distance and clinch up but Egyptian swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Egyptian throws a counter high kick but Voluspa was just alert enough to avoid it.
We've been told by Egyptian's head coaches at The Infamous Duranto Gym that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Voluspa shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Egyptian as he avoids it easily.
Voluspa fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Horus Egyptian has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Nori Voluspa.
Voluspa darts in looking for a takedown but Egyptian gets double underhooks and turns Voluspa into the cage.
Voluspa tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Egyptian defends well and Voluspa ends up having to push Egyptian into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Egyptian throws a big counter combination but Voluspa scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Egyptian slaps away a takedown attempt from Voluspa, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Egyptian tried to counter with a leg kick but Voluspa avoided it.

Voluspa pushes Egyptian up against the cage in a clinch.
Egyptian lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Voluspa backwards.

Voluspa jumps guard and drags Egyptian to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Voluspa is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Voluspa looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Egyptian's corner is telling him to maintain position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Voluspa doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

Voluspa escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Egyptian gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Egyptian wants to pass the guard but Voluspa is keeping the position.
Voluspa is trying to keep Egyptian in close.

Egyptian won't allow Voluspa to sweep him here.
Egyptian's corner is telling him to maintain position.

Voluspa is looking for a triangle but Egyptian pushes his legs off easily.
Egyptian is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Voluspa looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Egyptian not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Voluspa keeping moving, preventing Egyptian from controlling successfully.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Voluspa tries to clinch but Egyptian is having none of it.
Voluspa will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Egyptian lands with a nice combination. Voluspa backs away looking to recover.

Egyptian throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Voluspa's head.

Voluspa shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Egyptian defends it nicely.

Voluspa has Egyptian up against the cage in a clinch.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Egyptian creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Egyptian stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
Egyptian is defending well against a takedown attempt.

Egyptian breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Voluspa shoots in but Egyptian avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Voluspa fails with the takedown.
Egyptian throws a counter high kick but Voluspa was just alert enough to avoid it.
Egyptian throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
The fight stays on the outside here - Voluspa looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Voluspa tries to clinch but Egyptian is having none of it.

Voluspa clinches.
Voluspa goes for a takedown in the clinch but Egyptian prevents it.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Horus Egyptian dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.

A slapping leg kick lands for Egyptian.
Horus Egyptian is winning the standup battle so far.
Egyptian leaves Voluspa with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Voluspa tries to clinch but Egyptian moves out of range.
Voluspa looks to clinch
and Egyptian counters with a head kick.
Voluspa shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Egyptian as he jumps to the side.
A nice leg kick lands there from Egyptian.

Egyptian throws a quick counter head kick but Voluspa was just out of range.
Voluspa fails with an attempt to clinch.
Nice takedown defense from Egyptian. No joy for Voluspa on that attempt.
Egyptian looked to counter with a high kick but didn't commit.

Voluspa drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Egyptian pulls Voluspa in close to his closed guard and prevents Voluspa from doing any damage or advancing position.
Voluspa working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Egyptian is controlling Voluspa's posture.
Egyptian keeping moving, preventing Voluspa from controlling successfully.
Egyptian has his hands on Voluspa's head, controlling the position.
Voluspa trying to control but Egyptian is working from the bottom.
Voluspa passes Egyptian's left leg - he's now in half guard.

Voluspa is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Egyptian is just riding it out for now. Voluspa eventually gives up the hold.

Voluspa throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Egyptian is looking to control Voluspa's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Egyptian avoid being mounted?

Voluspa postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Egyptian to stand up.
Voluspa wants to clinch but Egyptian slips to the side
and Egyptian counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Voluspa is lucky that one didn't land flush.

Voluspa shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Egyptian counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Voluspa tries to close the distance and clinch up but Egyptian swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Egyptian quickly followed up with a counter body kick but doesn't connect.
Voluspa is looking to clinch.
Egyptian thinks about countering with a head kick.
Nori Voluspa seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Horrible takedown attempt by Voluspa or perhaps it was just good defense by Egyptian, which made it look bad.
Voluspa looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Egyptian is fending him off so far but Voluspa persists. Nope, Egyptian circles away and we're back to standing.
As Voluspa looks to move away, Egyptian throws a big counter combo but Voluspa just gets out of the way.
Voluspa tries for a takedown but Egyptian sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Egyptian was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Voluspa shoots for a takedown but Egyptian saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Voluspa shoots in looking for a takedown but Egyptian manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Voluspa's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Voluspa is breathing heavily.

Voluspa throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Egyptian counters with a crisp one two that drops Voluspa! Egyptian thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Voluspa to his feet! Voluspa is in big trouble!

Voluspa is rocked!

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Egyptian seems to be stalking Voluspa here. He circles momentarily and then unleashes a devastating head kick! Voluspa drops like a stone, out cold! WOW! Are you kidding me!? What a knockout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:08 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Horus Egyptian!
An out of breath Horus Egyptian thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
