Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kurki Potku (ranked 93 p4p, 254 weight class) and Roberto Fabinho (ranked 13 p4p, 35 weight class). Fabinho is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Glowed Up - Kaytranada. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fabinho tries to clinch up but Potku circles away and keeps his distance.
Fabinho fails with an attempt to clinch.

Potku shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Fabinho manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Fabinho has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Potku is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Fabinho throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
A little feinted left hand from Potku on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Potku ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Fabinho moves away.
Potku moves out of range of the body kick from Fabinho.
Donk. Potku catches Fabinho right on the button with a cross.

Potku fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Fabinho to the ground. Potku is now in Fabinho's guard.

Potku looking to sit in guard and control but Fabinho gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Potku is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Potku escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Fabinho gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Potku had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Fabinho defends it easily.
Fabinho trying to control the position from guard on top but Potku is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Potku controls Fabinho momentarily but Fabinho frees himself.
Fabinho is working Potku over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Fabinho distracts Potku with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Potku seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission.

Fabinho avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Potku is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Fabinho forces his way into half guard.
Fabinho wants to control but Potku is keeping him busy.
The fighters are battling for position here. Potku manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Potku tries to get to full guard but Fabinho has control of the leg.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Kurki Potku will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Potku slips under a jab.
Potku ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Potku tests Fabinho's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Potku moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Nice jab there from Fabinho.
Potku avoids the body shot from Fabinho.
Fabinho fakes the leg kick and cracks Potku in the body.
Fabinho ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Potku moves away.
It looked like Potku was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Fabinho.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Fabinho enables Potku to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Fabinho manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Potku is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Potku is sitting in close to Fabinho's body. Fabinho has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Potku is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Potku is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Fabinho.
