Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Scott Thompson (ranked 2720 p4p, 2287 weight class) and Rodrigo Duterte (ranked 141 p4p, 119 weight class). Thompson comes to the cage accompanied by Redneck Summer - Ben Hudson. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Scott Thompson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Rodrigo Duterte!
The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Daniel Blasius and Paulsen Ambrosius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thompson tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Duterte was well out of range. Poor timing from Thompson.
Duterte is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Thompson with a body shot.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Duterte lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Thompson has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Thompson and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Duterte keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Thompson shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Duterte has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it.
Duterte tries to roll over but Thompson keeps him under control.
Duterte is looking to escape.
Thompson is taking a breather. Duterte says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
The fighters are battling for position here. Duterte manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Duterte has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Thompson should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Duterte has tightened it up now! Thompson should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!

After the fight, Rodrigo Duterte was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
