The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Ivan Kurochkin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Roman throws a wild body kick that Bittencourt sees coming a mile off.
Bittencourt tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Bittencourt.
Bittencourt fails in his attempt to clinch.

Roman drives through with a takedown into guard.
Roman has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Bittencourt is proving hard to escape from.

Bittencourt working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Roman doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Roman manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Bittencourt is looking to stand up but Roman isn't so interested in that idea.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Bittencourt working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Roman doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Roman manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

and Roman counters with a nice double leg into side control. Bittencourt won't be happy with that.

Roman tries to control but Bittencourt wriggling away.
BOOM! Roman connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Roman wants to control the pace but Bittencourt is squirming around nicely.

Bittencourt is trying to stand up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The referee warns Bittencourt that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Roman postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Bittencourt looks a forlorn figure.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Bittencourt is trying to get back to his feet but can't.
Bittencourt is bucking up trying to escape but Roman cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Roman is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Bittencourt can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Roman trying to control but Bittencourt is having none of it.
Roman is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Bittencourt is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Bittencourt takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

Roman working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.
Roman blocks Bittencourt's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom.
Bittencourt bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
Roman wants to get back to his feet but Bittencourt is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Bittencourt distracts Roman with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Bittencourt stands and throws Roman's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Bittencourt is trying to get an arm triangle but Roman is defending well.

Bittencourt decides to stand back up.

Roman drives through with a takedown into guard.
Roman is looking to stand up but Bittencourt won't let him.
Bittencourt controls Roman momentarily but Roman frees himself.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

so Roman counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Roman avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Roman has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Roman throws and elbow that misses. Bittencourt uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Roman's guard. Nice move by Bittencourt!

Bittencourt stands up and waves to Roman to follow him.
Bittencourt takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Roman keeps the fight on the outside.
Bittencourt shoots in but no luck this time.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Bittencourt tries to clinch but Roman moves out of range.
Roman lands a two punch combo.
Roman throws a head kick that misses.
Roman feints and then cracks Bittencourt's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Bittencourt down.

Roman looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Oh but Bittencourt is tightening it up a little... Roman has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Roman reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Roman taps out! nice BJJ there by Bittencourt!
