Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hooty throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Kenzo throwing a counter right hand but Hooty manages to avoid it.
Hooty misses with a series of wild punches.
It looked like Kenzo wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Kenzo connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Some wild striking there from Hooty.

Kenzo cracks Hooty with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Hooty slips under a jab.
Sloppy strikes from Hooty. Those never looked like landing.
Kenzo dodges the punch combination from Hooty.
Kevin Hooty seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hooty lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Kenzo scores with a crisp jab that stopped Hooty in his tracks.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Hooty throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Kenzo.

Hooty throws a right hand that Kenzo ducks under and follows up with a left that Kenzo also avoids with ease.
Hooty shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

Kenzo lands with an uppercut that bounces Hooty off the cage and back into range.
Hooty's coach down at Cozad MMA Tokyo was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Hooty's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

Kenzo throws a body punch but Hooty moves out of range.
Kenzo smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.

Hooty is rocked!
I'm just looking down at my notes here and I see that.... oh! Kenzo has cracked Hooty with a big right, followed by a left! He's out on his feet! Kenzo lands another huge swinging hook and Hooty tumbles to the canvas! The ref dives in to save Hooty, before Kenzo can land any more shots!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:19 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Ejiri Kenzo!
