Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ralph McGuire (ranked 13 p4p, 211 weight class) and Tony Stark (ranked 5 p4p, 27 weight class). McGuire comes to the cage accompanied by Confederate Railroad - Daddy Never Was The Cadillac Kind. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice takedown defense from McGuire. No joy for Stark on that attempt.
McGuire leaves Stark with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Stark uses good head movement to avoid the hook from McGuire.
Stark tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Stark misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
A little feinted left hand from McGuire on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Ralph McGuire has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tony Stark.
McGuire misses with a shot to the body

and Stark counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Stark.
Stark wants to pass the guard but McGuire is keeping the position.

Stark has gone for a leg lock! McGuire slips out almost immediately though and dives into Stark's guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Stark is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. McGuire is aware though and is defending well.

Stark working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. McGuire doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Stark is tightening it up a little... McGuire has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! McGuire reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! McGuire taps out! Nice BJJ there by Stark!
