The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thomas looks to score with a jab to the body but Pain is just out of range.

Pain swings wildly with an uppercut but Thomas uses good head movement to avoid it.

Pain misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Thomas.

and Pain counters with a series of strikes. Thomas will be more careful next time no doubt.
Pain swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
No joy there for Pain, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Thomas looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Thomas unleashes a big counter combination but Pain bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

and Pain counters with a big 3 punch combo that drops Thomas on his ass! Thomas wobbles back to his feet half way through the count and though looking a bit dazed, the referee is going to allow the fight to continue!

Thomas tries to clinch but Pain moves out of range.
Thomas swings widly with a right hand
and Pain counters with a three punch combo that has Thomas backing up. Thomas nods at Pain to acknowledge the strikes.
Pain circles away from the clinch attempt
and Pain counters with a right, followed by a huge uppercut that sends Thomas crashing to the mat! Thomas is trying to use the ropes to get back to his feet but he's all over the place - the referee has seen enough and has stopped the fight! Pain screams with a mixture of joy and relief, whilst celebrating with his cornermen.
