Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Scott Potter (ranked 1042 p4p, 1736 weight class) and Jake Walton (ranked 130 p4p, 199 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Walton scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Walton throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Walton on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Potter is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Walton.
Potter ducks down and throws a hook to the body.

Walton now looks to counter with a shot at the body.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Potter clinches up against the cage.
Potter lands with a left to the head.
Potter blocks an uppercut.
A nice left hand lands by Potter.

Walton manages to break the clinch.

As Walton tries to get set, Potter tries to push him back and clinch up but Walton manages to avoid the attempt.

Potter closes the distance and pushes Walton back into the cage.
Walton looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Potter works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
Walton tries to circle away but Potter has him pinned against the cage.

Walton ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Walton no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Walton is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Walton has his foot on Potter's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Potter works his way back into a safe position though.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Potter is sitting in close to Walton's body. Walton has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Potter is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Potter is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Walton.
