Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 14 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Anthony Ruiz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Inigo Montoya!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Aafke Stam and Nard Betker.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Montoya swinging wildly here.
Ruiz fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Montoya swings for the body but Ruiz moves out of range.
A looping hook to the body misses from Montoya. Ruiz does a little dance to reset his feet.
Montoya misses with the combination.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ruiz smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Montoya throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Montoya misses the body punch
and Ruiz counters with a slapping leg kick.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Ruiz.
Ruiz looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Montoya checks a leg kick.
Ruiz throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Montoya sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Montoya looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Montoya misses with the combination.
Ruiz throwing a counter right hand but Montoya manages to avoid it.
Montoya on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Ruiz uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Montoya.
Ruiz pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Ruiz thuds his right hand into Montoya's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

Ruiz thows a body kick. Montoya tries to catch it but that hurt him.
A nice leg kick from Ruiz, right into the meat of the thigh.
Montoya misses with a body shot.

and Montoya counters with a lovely straight right hand!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Montoya takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
Montoya keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Ruiz.
A decent looking cross lands there for Ruiz.
Anthony Ruiz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Montoya clinches.

Ruiz putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Montoya in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body.

Montoya breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Ruiz throws a low kick but Montoya avoids it.
Montoya looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Montoya tries to bum rush Ruiz with a series of wild strikes but Ruiz uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Montoya lands a slapping body shot.
Ruiz throws a leg kick but Montoya checks it.
A decent looking cross lands there for Montoya.
Montoya fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Ruiz manages to avoid it.
A low kick from Ruiz is predictable there
and Montoya counters with a lovely straight right hand!

It looks like Anthony Ruiz has been cut.
Montoya throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Ruiz scores with a hook.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Ruiz feints and then cracks Montoya's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Montoya down.
Ruiz thows a leg kick but Montoya checks it
and Montoya counters with a slapping leg kick.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Montoya throws a hook but Ruiz avoids it easily.
Montoya pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Montoya gets in close and tags Ruiz with a short punch that almost sends Ruiz to the mat! Oh Ruiz is in big trouble! He turns his back on Montoya, trying to create some distance but Montoya rushes him, striking wildly and Ruiz goes down! The referee tackles Montoya into the cage to end the fight! Montoya is one violent man!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:32 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Inigo Montoya!
Inigo Montoya made sure to give a little speech post fight, saying 'You are using Bonetti's Defense against me, ah? Naturally, you must expect me to attack with Capo Ferro? Unless the enemy has studied his Agrippa... which I have!'.
