PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Big Daddy (ranked 966 p4p, 2018 weight class) and Yin Mao (ranked 78 p4p, 149 weight class). Mao has chosen HonestKey- Pass as his entrance music. Yin Mao told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.

With a record of 9 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Yin Mao!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Alec Ball and Gregory Folan.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Daddy takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Mao throws a sloppy head kick and Daddy moves out of range easily.
Daddy seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Daddy.
Mao avoids the body shot from Daddy.
Daddy swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Mao misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Daddy drops down looking for a counter takedown but Mao sprawls and moves away.
Daddy misses with a looping left.
Mao looks to land a right hand but Daddy moved out of range.
Daddy throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Mao is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Daddy pulls his head out easily.

Daddy is taking a breather. Mao says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Daddy has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Daddy lands a nice short elbow.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Daddy wants to take a breather but Mao is having none of it.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Daddy cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Mao is rocked!

Daddy lands a big shot to the head and Mao winces in pain. He's tapped out due to strikes!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 6:21 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Strikes). Big Daddy!
