Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Lincoln Hamilton!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Hirohito Nitta and Yuuki Gou.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hamilton fails with an attempt to clinch.
Hamilton tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Mercado paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Mercado drops Hamilton with a big left hand and mounts him. Hamilton is in big trouble!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Mercado tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Hamilton is looking to improve his position but Mercado isn't that keen on the idea.

Hamilton looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground!
Mercado is just content to waste time from the top position. Hamilton takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
Mercado has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.
