PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Murfum Orcarm (ranked 1933 p4p, 3123 weight class) and Kova Luu (ranked 102 p4p, 167 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 13 - 0, fighting out of London, Murfum Orcarm!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 16 - 1, fighting out of London, Kova Luu!
The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Marco Blurström and Anni Minnemäki.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Orcarm blocks a head kick by Luu.

Orcarm rushes Luu and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Orcarm pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Orcarm closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Luu to the mat! Luu manages to get full guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Orcarm stays in close to Luu's body and controls the position.
Luu is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Orcarm preventing the sweep.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Orcarm has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Luu is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Orcarm might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Orcarm slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Orcarm has managed to clinch.

Orcarm gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Orcarm throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Luu works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Luu controls Orcarm momentarily but Orcarm frees himself.
Orcarm sitting in guard, not really doing much.

Orcarm throwing strikes but missing.

Orcarm drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Luu manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Orcarm has Luu in his guard.

Orcarm wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Orcarm wants to stand up but Luu is controlling him.
Orcarm keeping moving, preventing Luu from controlling successfully.
Orcarm looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Orcarm looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Orcarm is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Luu defends well.
Orcarm pulls Luu in close to prevent any damage.
Luu must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Orcarm is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Orcarm pushes a forearm under Luu's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Luu is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
