Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Johnny Sandoval (ranked 4077 p4p, 4150 weight class) and Joel Alvarez (ranked 422 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Johnny Sandoval!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Joel Alvarez!
The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, Dirk Anderson and David Hoff.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alvarez tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Sandoval manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Alvarez gets caught flat footed, as Sandoval shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Alvarez has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Sandoval has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.
Sandoval lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Sandoval tries a body shot but Alvarez blocks it.
Sandoval lands with a right to the head.
Sandoval presses Alvarez against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.
Alvarez tries for a takedown but Sandoval manages to get underhooks.
Alvarez tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Sandoval just stands there and leans against the cage.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Alvarez wants a takedown but no success here.
Johnny Sandoval has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Joel Alvarez.
Alvarez tries to break free but Sandoval pushes him back against the cage.
Sandoval struggles to land a body shot inside as Alvarez controls his hands.
Come on Alvarez - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Alvarez drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Sandoval lands a hook that snaps the head of Alvarez backwards.
A nice left hand lands by Sandoval.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Sandoval.
Sandoval tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Sandoval swings wildly with an uppercut but Alvarez uses good head movement to avoid it.
Alvarez decides to pull guard.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Alvarez holds on and takes a little breather.
Sandoval throwing strikes from guard but Alvarez blocks nicely.
Sandoval knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Alvarez on the ground.
Sandoval lands a couple of digs.
Alvarez is trying to control the position but Sandoval postures up.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Sandoval working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Alvarez's head.
Sandoval landing some decent shots from guard.
Alvarez bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Sandoval's guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Alvarez decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Sandoval throws a body shot but no joy.
Alvarez tries to clinch but Sandoval moves away
and Sandoval counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Alvarez is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Alvarez tries to clinch there but Sandoval circles away.
Both fighters circle each other, looking for something big. Sandoval moves in and throws an overhand right. That hurt Alvarez! Sandoval continues to tee off on Alvarez, landing with a left and a right! Sandoval connects with a right hand that leaves Alvarez sleeping against the cage! What a finish by Sandoval!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:48 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Johnny Sandoval!
