Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Piston Honda (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pai Mei (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Pai Mei!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Sosuke Kotani.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Honda throws a leg kick but Mei sees it coming and checks it nicely.

Mei feints and as Honda raises his hands in defense, Mei changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Mei prevents Honda from getting back to his feet.
Mei trying to control but Honda is working from the bottom.
Honda avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Mei takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Honda pivots, looking for a leg kick but Mei is out of range and Honda settles back down.
Mei wants to land a leg kick but Honda is out of range.
Honda throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Mei moves out of range of the leg kick from Honda.
Mei will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Mei shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Honda pinned against the cage. Honda gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Mei walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
A nice combination there by Honda.
Honda throws a nice outside leg kick.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Honda cracks Mei with a good jab.
Honda pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Honda lands a big head kick that sends Mei tumbling to the mat! Honda takes a step backwards and waves Mei back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Mei is rocked!

Honda will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Mei is still on wobbly legs! Can Honda finish him?
Honda cracks the inside of Mei's front leg.
Mei seems to have recovered his senses.
Honda misses with a series of wild punches.
Mei drops his hands momentarily and Honda takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Honda chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Mei shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Honda defends it nicely.
Piston Honda has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Pai Mei.
Honda bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Piston Honda is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Honda misses with a wild combination.
Honda moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Honda turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Mei gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Honda lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.

and Mei counters with a takedown into side control.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Honda is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Mei asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Honda is not content to let Mei control the position.
Honda wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Mei swings around for an armbar but Honda sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Mei's guard.
Mei is looking to stand up but Honda isn't so interested in that idea.
Honda has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Honda wants to get up but he can't break Mei's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Honda got a little sloppy there for a moment and Mei has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Honda has managed to get both his arms back between Mei's legs - danger averted.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Honda stands up from Mei's guard - Honda perhaps looking for a knockout.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the ring so we can get back down to business.

Honda lands a glancing blow to the side of Mei's head.

Honda lands a left and a right that send Mei crashing to the mat, dazed. Honda thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Piston Honda is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Whack! Honda lands a heavy head kick that drops Mei. The ref tackles Honda to stop the fight - a great save by the referee because Mei was done.
