Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jaquan Johnson (ranked 4914 p4p, 4097 weight class) and Bashira Aya (ranked 319 p4p, 266 weight class). The key to victory for Jaquan Johnson has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jaquan Johnson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Bashira Aya!
The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Kenichi Hosakawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Aya clinches.
Aya is trying to pull guard but Johnson has him pressed against the cage.
Aya tries to pull guard but Johnson won't allow it.
Johnson has had enough of the clinch but Aya keeps him there for the moment.
Aya breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Johnson throws a body kick, spinning off balance
and Aya counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Aya tries to stand but Johnson is controlling from the bottom.
Johnson wants to stand but Aya is controlling the position.
Johnson really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Johnson wants to get back to his feet but Aya passes into half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Johnson is trying to stand up here but Aya is controlling him well.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Johnson knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Aya on the ground.
Aya is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Johnson defends it well.
Aya looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Johnson on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Johnson wants to get back to his feet.
Aya has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
The referee warns Johnson that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

Johnson somehow manages to escape the mount and get back to his feet!
A right-left combo lands from Johnson.
Johnson lands with a nice body punch.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Aya crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Johnson - the referee stops the clock and Aya gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Johnson. Aya manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Johnson misses with a head kick.
Aya takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
Aya throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Johnson was covering up waiting for the punch and Aya finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Aya looks winded!
Johnson is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Aya in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Aya controls from within his opponent's guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Johnson is looking to stand up but Aya isn't so interested in that idea.

Johnson is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Aya is controlling him.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
Johnson swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Johnson lands with a thumping leg kick.
Aya moves into the clinch successfully.
Johnson pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Johnson lands a jab to the head.
A solid body kick from Johnson.
Johnson misses with a few strikes there.

and Aya counters with a nice double leg into side control. Johnson won't be happy with that.

Johnson is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.

Aya happy to just control the position for now.
Aya wants to stand but Johnson has his arm trapped.
Johnson tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops.
Johnson is trying to get back to his feet but Aya has full control of the position and if anything, Johnson has just worked his way into a worse spot.
You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.
Aya has got one arm under Johnson's chin. This could be trouble... Johnson trying to control the other hand but Aya gets it free and sqeezes tight - just a matter of time now! Yep, Johnson has tapped out! The fight is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Bashira Aya!
A less than humble Bashira Aya misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
