Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Maman Suraman (ranked 1272 p4p, 1125 weight class) and Nagatsuki Hideki (ranked 165 p4p, 150 weight class). Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Maman Suraman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Nagatsuki Hideki!
The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Vladimir Khabensky and Aleksei Zolotukhin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hideki cracks Suraman with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.

It looks like Maman Suraman has been cut.
The fighters circling - Hideki throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Suraman shoots and misses
and Hideki counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Horrible takedown attempt by Suraman or perhaps it was just good defense by Hideki, which made it look bad.
Hideki swings widly with a right hand

and Suraman counters with a single leg into guard. Hideki didn't expect that.
Suraman content to stall in guard here.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Suraman working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Suraman definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Suraman is pushing down on Hideki's leg trying to pass to half guard. Hideki is fighting to maintain full guard but Suraman has managed to sneak the leg through.
Suraman working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Suraman prevents Hideki from improving his position.

Suraman slips a nice elbow through Hideki's hands, connecting with Hideki's forehead.
Suraman seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Hideki does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Suraman is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!

Suraman tries to control but Hideki wriggling away.

Hideki felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
Hideki can't escape the position.
Hideki wants to hold on but Suraman pushes him away.
Hideki is wriggling around trying to escape.
Suraman trying to control but he's not successful this time.

Suraman sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!

Hideki is trying desperately to improve position.
Suraman sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Hideki is squirming around, avoiding Suraman's attempts to control the action.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Hideki throws a leg kick

and Suraman counters with a nice double leg into side control. Hideki won't be happy with that.
Hideki keeps Suraman under control for a moment.
Sloppy strikes there by Suraman.
Hideki defending against the ground and pound.
Suraman trying to control the position but Hideki is working away.
Hideki avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Suraman.
Suraman tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
Suraman has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Suraman is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Hideki is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Hideki controls the position for a moment.

Suraman working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Hideki taking punishment in the form of punches.
Hideki is not content to let Suraman control the position.

Suraman thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Hideki tries to bench press Suraman off him but Suraman keeps the position.
Suraman remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Hideki takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
The ground and pound from Suraman seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.

Suraman swings around for an armbar but Hideki sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Suraman's guard.
Suraman is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Suraman might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Suraman has a closed guard, preventing Hideki from standing up.
Suraman is trying to keep Hideki in close.
Hideki wanted to stand there but Suraman had control of the position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Suraman is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Hideki is aware though and is defending well.

Suraman has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Hideki off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Suraman misses with a takedown
and Hideki makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Suraman gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
enabling Hideki to counter with a crisp jab.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Suraman is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Hideki moves out of range of the body kick from Suraman.
Hideki is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.
An inside leg kick lands from Hideki.
Suraman moves out of range as Hideki strikes.
Suraman checks a low kick from Hideki.
Hideki scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Hideki darts in and out, connecting with a jab.

Suraman is rocked!

Maman Suraman's cut is getting worse.
Hideki is looking for an opening here. He's unloaded a big left hand that catches Suraman flush on the jaw and sends him tumbling to the canvas! Suraman is out cold! Hideki holds back from landing any unnecessary shots to his unconscious opponent, as the referee reacts slowly to the situation. A brutal knockout and then some excellent sportsmanship - this guy is my new favorite fighter!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:48 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Nagatsuki Hideki!
A very excited looking Nagatsuki Hideki made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
