Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Cuba Gooding!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Adrian Halvorsen!
The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Igor Prikhodko and Fedor Mirinova.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Halvorsen tried to score with a low kick but Gooding checks it.
Halvorsen with a nice calf kick.
Gooding walks into a left hand.
A jab from Halvorsen misses.
A little feinted left hand from Gooding on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Halvorsen misses with a body punch
enabling Gooding to counter with a crisp jab.
Gooding throws an off balance right hand
and Halvorsen counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Halvorsen goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Halvorsen lands on the inside with an uppercut.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Gooding lands a nice uppercut.
Halvorsen misses with some punches.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Halvorsen.
A right handed body shot lands from Halvorsen.
I was talking to Gooding's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Halvorsen is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Gooding can't fight it off and eventually Halvorsen manages to take the fight to the floor. Gooding looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Gooding is trying to keep Halvorsen in close.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Gooding pulls Halvorsen in close to prevent any damage.
Gooding tries to strike from the bottom.
Halvorsen slips nicely into half guard.
Halvorsen is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Halvorsen is trying to control the action in half guard but Gooding is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Gooding has hold of Halvorsen's hands but Halvorsen slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Gooding wants to control but Halvorsen is keeping busy.
Gooding is looking for a sweep. Halvorsen is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Gooding is trying to control Halvorsen's posture. Halvorsen takes advantage of the lull and advances to side control. He also appears to have an arm triangle here! Uh oh, big trouble for Gooding! Halvorsen is rotating here... this could be the end... Gooding is out! Halvorsen has ended this one emphatically! Great submission!
