PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Perry Cox (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kal Bingman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bingman has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. Perry Cox has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cox throws a right and a left that Bingman avoids nicely.
Bingman misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Bingman looks gassed!
Cox will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Cox fails to land the takedown.
Cox shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Bingman as he avoids it easily.

and Cox counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Bingman's guard now.
Bingman throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
Cox wants to pass the guard but Bingman is keeping the position.
Bingman is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Cox passes Bingman's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Cox is working for a submission of some sort.
Bingman looks like he's trying to stand up.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Cox lands a nice short elbow.

Cox decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
Cox fails with a takedown attempt.
Bingman fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Cox manages to avoid it.
Cox will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Cox stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.
Cox looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
A jab-cross combination lands for Cox and sends Bingman crashing to the mat! Cox follows him down to the mat - Bingman regains half guard but he's not out of trouble yet!

It looks like Kal Bingman has been cut.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Cox wants to pass to mount but Bingman is defending the position.

Cox is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Bingman doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Cox.
Cox lands with a punch from half guard.

Cox uses his free foot to push down on Bingman's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Bingman.

Cox is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Bingman is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Bingman flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Cox anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Bingman and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Cox slips an arm under Bingman chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Cox has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Cox is squeezing on Bingman like an anaconda would it's prey. Bingman fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!
