Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Rob Green (ranked 4042 p4p, 2922 weight class) and Micah Kim (ranked 0 p4p, 216 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Rob Green!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Micah Kim!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, William Peck and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kim shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Green defends it nicely.
Green tries to counter by clinching up but Kim breaks away and moves out of range.

Kim closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Green to the mat! Green manages to get full guard.
Green is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Kim drops back, looking for a kneebar! Green looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Green looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Green!

Kim is looking to regain half guard here but Green keeps moving and retains side control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kim is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Kim can do anything to dispel that myth.

The referee asks Green politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Green prefers to stall for the moment though.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Kim is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Green is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

Green is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Kim can do to turn this around?

Kim has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Green can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Rob Green overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Green is keen to just control but Kim is a slippery customer.
Green is really struggling to control Kim but he's trying to hold on to the position.

Green seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Kim for as long as he can get away with.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Green's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Green throws a jab but it's blocked by Kim.
Horrible takedown attempt by Green or perhaps it was just good defense by Kim, which made it look bad.

Micah Kim seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Green throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Kim changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Green tries to avoid it but Kim manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Green to the ground. Green escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Kim takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Green is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
The referee calls for Kim to work.
Kim is trying to maintain a safe position but Green gets an underhook and turns Kim into the cage.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Green tightens his grip and picks Kim up, before dumping him to the ground. Kim manages to land in guard.

Kim had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Green defends it easily.

Kim has his foot on Green's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Green works his way back into a safe position though.

Well Green has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
