Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Romulus Gerber (ranked 1409 p4p, 1557 weight class) and Akahoshi Hisashi (ranked 180 p4p, 192 weight class). Hisashi has chosen Feng Shui as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hisashi fails with an attempt to clinch.
Romulus Gerber seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A head kick from Hisashi lands but Gerber takes it in his stride.
Hisashi staying out of range there.
Gerber misses with a body shot.
Hisashi throws a head kick that misses.
Gerber takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

Hisashi has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.

Gerber takes a jab right on the kisser.
Hisashi shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Gerber eats them both and turns towards Hisashi to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

Hisashi looks to throw the jab but Gerber is out of range.
No joy there for Gerber, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
The fighters circle momentarily. Hisashi darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
