The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Murphy moves into range and clinches up with Sanchez.
Sanchez looking to stall.
Sanchez tries to pull guard but Murphy holds him up against the cage and eventually Sanchez drops back down to his feet.
Sanchez jumps guard but Murphy stands there with Sanchez around his waist. Sanchez gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Murphy looking to sit in guard and control but Sanchez gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Sanchez trying to control but Murphy is working from the bottom.

Murphy working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Sanchez has passed into half guard!

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Murphy looking to sit in guard and control but Sanchez gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Sanchez wants to control from the top but Murphy keeps moving.
Sanchez stands and throws Murphy's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Murphy tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Murphy is trying to get back to his feet but Sanchez has full control of the position and if anything, Murphy has just worked his way into a worse spot.
Murphy tries to escape but Sanchez has the hooks in and won't let him break free.
Murphy is covering up but some of the strikes from Sanchez are getting through and doing damage.
I really don't envy Murphy right now.

Sanchez is throwing punches to the body, looking to soften Murphy up.

Sanchez is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Sanchez gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Sanchez gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Sanchez apologises and we restart here on the feet.
Murphy scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Murphy lands with a nice combination. Sanchez backs away looking to recover.

Sanchez misses with a takedown attempt - Murphy sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

and Murphy counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

and Murphy moves into the clinch.
Sanchez goes for a takedown attempt but Murphy pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Murphy looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Sanchez!
Murphy looking to control but Sanchez is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Sanchez has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Murphy goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Sanchez is on top in guard.

Murphy knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Sanchez on the ground.
Sanchez wants to control but Murphy is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Sanchez is not content to let Murphy control the position.
Sanchez is looking to control Murphy's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Sanchez avoid being mounted?
Murphy is stalling here. Sanchez is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Murphy seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Sanchez has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Sanchez is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Murphy defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.
You can see the frustration on Murphy's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Murphy wants to control his opponent's hands but Sanchez gets his hands free.

Sanchez has the hooks in and he's looking for a rear naked choke here. Murphy is defending well but eventually Sanchez manages to get an arm under the chin and he's locked on the RNC! Murphy has no choice but to tap now! He does! This one is all over!
