Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Frane Vinkovic (ranked 2427 p4p, 1781 weight class) and Aleki Veainu (ranked 283 p4p, 212 weight class). Aleki Veainu is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Vinkovic throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Veainu stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

A quick step to the side and Vinkovic tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.

Veainu cracks Vinkovic with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Vinkovic looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Veainu finish him?

It looks like Frane Vinkovic has been cut.
Veainu moves out of range of the strikes.
Veainu thows a left - swing and a miss!

We are yet to see a takedown attempt from Veainu in the fight. On paper you would think he is the more dominant ground fighter so let's see if these unusual tactics pay off.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Veainu sends Vinkovic crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Veainu is motioning to the referee to let Vinkovic up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!
Oh Vinkovic is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Veainu finds Vinkovic's off switch, with a big overhand right that connects perfectly to the side of the head! Vinkovic flops back against the cage, eyes gazing into the distance. Veainu lands an unnecessary shot before the referee has time to step in and end the fight. Brutal stuff but I'm sure Vinkovic will be OK.
