The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sullivan takes one on the button.
Gavao swats away the attempt to clinch by Sullivan.
Sullivan takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Sullivan shoots and misses
and Gavao counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Sullivan misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Sullivan doesn't manage to clinch there - Gavao circles away.
Sullivan walks into a stiff left hand from Gavao.
Sullivan fails with an attempt to clinch.
Sullivan on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Gavao scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Sullivan tries to clinch but Gavao moves out of range.
Sullivan shoots in for a double leg but Gavao sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Sullivan needs to keep his hands up - Gavao had a free shot at his head there.

and Gavao counters with a stiff right hand.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Luke Sullivan. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Gavao connects with a good right hand that stumbles Sullivan. Sullivan circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Gavao connects with a nice cross there... Sullivan is looking wobbly and Gavao recognises it - he's rushed in and lands two more brutal shots that send Sullivan to the canvas, out cold! A brutal finish to the fight - Gavao jumps onto the cage to celebrate with the crowd!
