Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Filip Yumashev (ranked 1139 p4p, 1672 weight class) and Adam Bogo (ranked 89 p4p, 123 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Filip Yumashev!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 24 - 0, fighting out of London, Adam Bogo!
The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Jeff Smith and Josh West.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yumashev throws a leg kick but Bogo sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Yumashev tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Bogo was well out of range. Poor timing from Yumashev.
Bogo changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Bogo moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
A telegraphed right hand from Yumashev misses the target.
Yumashev connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Bogo momentarily.
Bogo moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
A head kick by Bogo misses
and Yumashev counters with a stiff right hand.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and Bogo decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Yumashev's guard.

Bogo is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Yumashev on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Yumashev tries to get out of the position.
Bogo throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Yumashev works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Bogo stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Yumashev swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Bogo is looking to work some ground and pound but Yumashev has wrist control.

Yumashev tries to roll over but Bogo keeps him under control.

Bogo is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Yumashev defends it well.
Bogo thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Yumashev's head.
Yumashev wants to control but Bogo is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Bogo seems to be looking for submissions.
Yumashev is controlling Bogo's position as best he can from this difficult position.

Bogo is looking for a kimura but Yumashev is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Bogo to get the leverage.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.

and Bogo takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Yumashev swings for the body but Bogo moves out of range.
Yumashev swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Bogo scores with a head kick. Yumashev tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.

Bogo goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Yumashev rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Bogo's guard! Nice work there by Yumashev!

Yumashev seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Bogo working for a triangle but Yumashev defends it easily.
Yumashev stays in close to Bogo's body and controls the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Bogo is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Bogo isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Yumashev stacks Bogo on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Yumashev!

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Bogo is looking to regain half guard here but Yumashev keeps moving and retains side control.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Bogo is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Yumashev's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Adam Bogo showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Yumashev throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Bogo tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
A head kick misses from Bogo.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Bogo.
Yumashev was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
Bogo has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

and Bogo counters with a nice double leg into side control. Yumashev won't be happy with that.
Bogo is looking to take a break and control but Yumashev is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Bogo goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Yumashev has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Bogo but great work by Yumashev.

Yumashev thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Bogo wants to improve his position but Yumashev is controlling well.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Bogo manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.
Yumashev lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage.
I was talking to Yumashev's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Bogo changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Yumashev fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Yumashev throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Yumashev's jab looks to have found its range, popping Bogo under the eye.
Bogo throws a head kick that misses
and Yumashev counters with a nice uppercut.
Bogo lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.

and Yumashev counters with a slapping leg kick.
Bogo is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Yumashev tries to work over Bogo's front leg with a kick but Bogo checks it.
Filip Yumashev has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Adam Bogo is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Filip Yumashev.
I think Bogo has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
