PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Alan Snowden (ranked 4144 p4p, 4064 weight class) and Dorian Moss (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Alan Snowden!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dorian Moss!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Stewart Dunkirk and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Snowden gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Snowden stalling against the cage.

Snowden tightens his grip and picks Moss up, before dumping him to the ground. Moss manages to land in guard.
Snowden slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Snowden landing some decent shots from guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Snowden scoring with some ground and pound.
Snowden prevents Moss from getting back to his feet.
Snowden with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Snowden is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Moss really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Snowden. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Snowden seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Moss for as long as he can get away with.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
Snowden tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Moss lands with a straight right. Snowden didn't see that one coming.
Snowden takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Snowden has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Moss finds it's way round the side to connect with Snowden's head.

Snowden looking to score a takedown here. Moss is defending well but Snowden drives through and ends up in Moss's guard.
Moss is looking to stand back up but Snowden counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Moss.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Moss is trying to escape back to his feet but Snowden uses the scramble to pass into side control.
Moss is looking to regain half guard here but Snowden keeps moving and retains side control.
Moss should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Snowden decides to stand back up. Snowden steps back and let's Moss get back to his feet.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Moss smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Snowden uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Moss.
Moss is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Snowden.
Snowden is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

Snowden gets a takedown into half guard.
Moss scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Snowden manages to mount him!

Snowden stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Alan Snowden dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Moss lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Snowden swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Moss throws a right and a left that both miss.
Moss misses with an uppercut.
Snowden staying out of range there.
Moss misses with a few strikes there.

Snowden shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Moss tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Snowden manages to move to mount!
It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Snowden here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Snowden lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Moss takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

Snowden swings around for an armbar and he's got it! Wow, that came out of nowhere! What a finish!
