Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Slant Grant!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Homer Jet!
The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Shirou Masuda and Tatsuya Matsuyama.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Grant tried to score with a low kick but Jet checks it.
Jet checks a low kick from Grant.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Jet.
Jet fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Grant to the ground. Jet is now in Grant's guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Grant working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Jet doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Grant is tightening it up a little... Jet has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Jet reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Jet taps out! Nice BJJ there by Grant!
