Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Shin Sakimura (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tyler Dendur (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Shin Sakimura!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Tyler Dendur!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Kenichi Hosakawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sakimura gets caught flat footed, as Dendur shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Dendur trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Sakimura is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Dendur advances to half guard.
Sakimura is trying to stand back up but Dendur is controlling him
Dendur is looking to take a break and control but Sakimura is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Sakimura is trying to get back to full guard.

Sakimura is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Dendur pulls his head out easily.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Dendur fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Dendur throws a nice outside leg kick.

Sakimura feints and as Dendur raises his hands in defense, Sakimura changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Dendur not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Dendur pushes Sakimura off and gets back to his feet.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Sakimura thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Dendur's head.

Sakimura winds up and cracks Dendur with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Dendur is looking to control Sakimura's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Dendur avoid being mounted?
Sakimura works his way into side control.

Sakimura decides to stand back up. Sakimura steps back and let's Dendur get back to his feet.
Dendur misses with a takedown attempt

and Sakimura counters with a shoot takedown. Dendur fights it but they end up in guard.
Shin Sakimura has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tyler Dendur.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Sakimura is pushing down on Dendur's leg trying to pass to half guard. Dendur is fighting to maintain full guard but Sakimura has managed to sneak the leg through.

Dendur is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Sakimura jumps into side control!

Sakimura swings around for an armbar but Dendur sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Sakimura's guard.
Sakimura looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Dendur puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Sakimura flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.

Sakimura's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Dendur wants to clinch

and Sakimura counters with a single leg into guard. Dendur didn't expect that.
Shin Sakimura overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Sakimura tries to free his leg and advance position but Dendur is retaining full guard.
Sakimura throws a big right hand that misses.

Dendur is trying to control the position but Sakimura postures up.
Dendur is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Dendur is keen to just control but Sakimura is a slippery customer.

Sakimura had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Dendur is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Sakimura Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Dendur's back instead.

Dendur defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Sakimura's arms.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Sakimura has his opponent's back and is working for the choke.
Sakimura keeps control of the position as Dendur tries to break free.
Dendur is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Sakimura off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted.
Sakimura has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Sakimura working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet.

Sakimura is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Dendur knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Dendur for a finish.

Sakimura drops back looking for a leg! Dendur is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Dendur manages to kick Sakimura off! Sakimura jumps back into Dendur's guard.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Dendur is trying to control the position but Sakimura postures up.
Sakimura passes easily into side control. Nice work.

Dendur is looking to reverse the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sakimura lands a nice forearm strike.

That's time! Sakimura's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!


Dendur has his takedown stuffed

and Sakimura decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Dendur's guard.
Sakimura postures up in Dendur's guard and throws a big left but Dendur blocks it.
Dendur wants to sweep here but Sakimura controlling him for the moment.

Sakimura lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Sakimura looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Sakimura thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Sakimura not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Dendur wants to improve his position but Sakimura is controlling well.

Dendur has hold of Sakimura's hands but Sakimura slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Sakimura seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Sakimura is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!

Dendur tries to reverse the position but Sakimura maintains control.

Sakimura is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Sakimura extends the arm and Dendur is forced to tap!
