PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Sergei Yan (ranked 5398 p4p, 4566 weight class) and Quek Wei (ranked 292 p4p, 256 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Quek Wei!
The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Hirohito Nitta and Shirou Masuda.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yan throws a nice looking combination but Wei bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Wei has his takedown stuffed
and Yan cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Yan keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Yan is looking to counter punch.
Yan misses with a hook. Wei ducked under it nicely.
Yan displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Wei.

Yan sizes up Wei with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.

Yan fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Wei manages to avoid it.
Wei shoots in but Yan avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Wei shoots in and bounces Yan off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Wei accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Wei changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
