PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jack Fadden (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Atsuhiko Ukon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Fadden might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Walk. Ukon has chosen Spectres In The Fog as his entrance music. Jack Fadden has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jack Fadden!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Atsuhiko Ukon!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fadden rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Ukon moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Fadden bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Fadden working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Ukon throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!
Fadden doesn't manage to clinch there - Ukon circles away.
Fadden shoots in and drives through. Ukon sprawls well.
Fadden is breathing heavily.

Fadden gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Ukon works over Fadden with some ground and pound from guard.

Fadden has his feet on Ukon's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.

and Ukon counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Fadden thinking.

Fadden is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Ukon is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!

so Ukon counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Fadden throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Ukon escapes and throws Fadden's legs to the side, diving into side control!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Ukon throws a half hearted mid kick.

Fadden is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Ukon has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Ukon!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Fadden is looking for a sweep.
Ukon lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
Ukon cracks Fadden with a big elbow.

Ukon changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Fadden looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Ukon cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Ukon can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Fadden is looking to escape.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Ukon moves into full mount! Fadden won't be happy about that!

Atsuhiko Ukon showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Fadden has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Ukon should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Fadden has tightened it up now! Ukon should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
