Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nikora Tama (ranked 1944 p4p, 3032 weight class) and Vadim Leonov Jr (ranked 233 p4p, 139 weight class). Tama kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Haka War Dance. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Nikora Tama!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 8 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Vadim Leonov Jr!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Steve Smith and Robert Douchet.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Leonov Jr takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Leonov Jr scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Tama bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Leonov Jr has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Tama fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Leonov Jr sprawls well initially but Tama persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Tama wants to pass to mount but Leonov Jr is defending the position.

Tama seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Leonov Jr does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Tama looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Leonov Jr with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

We've been hearing good reports from Tama's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Tama fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Leonov Jr avoids it really well and circles away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
