PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Billy Jacobs (ranked 3396 p4p, 2857 weight class) and Funky Buttlovin (ranked 329 p4p, 273 weight class). Funky Buttlovin told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jacobs blocks a jab.
Jacobs uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Buttlovin.
Buttlovin throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
A punch lands to the side of Buttlovin 's head but he takes it in his stride.
We've been informed that Buttlovin has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.

Jacobs throws a hook but Buttlovin blocks it.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Jacobs's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Buttlovin connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Jacobs scrambles back to his feet.

Jacobs walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

Buttlovin pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Jacobs back to the cage. Buttlovin follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Funky Buttlovin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jacobs comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

Buttlovin might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

Jacobs is pawing at Buttlovin, trying to feel the distance before throwing out a cross that crashes into Buttlovin's nose. Buttlovin is badly hurt! Jacobs pounces, throwing wild strikes as both fighters end up on the ground! Buttlovin tries desperately to hold on but Jacobs is relentless in his assault! As Buttlovin receives an ever increasing number of unanswered strikes the referee pulls Jacobs away and this one is in the books!

A less than humble Billy Jacobs misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
